Blocked Head Monitors

The Topcon Precision Agriculture Blocked Head Monitor is designed to monitor flow and no flow conditions or blockages of product. Detecting head blockages will avoid costly unsown strips and also save time and guesswork during seeding.

When a blockage occurs the BLOCK indicator will light and an audible alarm will sound to alert the operator to clear the blockage. The monitor also has a positive ALL OK indicator and the operator may mute the alarm by pressing the ALARM switch.

The Blocked Head Monitor also has Smart Block Head detection circuitry which allows the user to easily locate the blocked head. This is simply activated by switching the LOCATE BLOCK switch and a LED on the blocked sensor will light. Once the blockage is cleared the system can be reset and operations recommenced.

The Block Head Monitor uses the proven and reliable infrared sensing method to monitor the flow of product in the head where it is fitted without restricting the actual flow of product.

Topcon recommends that the sensor is fitted in the longest secondary drop tube where it can also monitor the primary hoses at the same time by sensing no flow if that section is blocked. Up to 18 sensors may be monitored simultaneously.

The Blocked Head Monitor is powered by a tractor’s 12 VDC supply and has a POWER On/Off switch and power indicator light.

The Blocked Head Monitor is supplied with 3.5m power cable, a tractor harness (6.5m), hopper extension(7.5m), and implement harness (12m).

Four different sizes of Blocked Head Sensors are available: 25mm, 32mm, 33.5mm and 40mm. Each sensor is supplied with a 5m extension harness.
