FAQ

Precision Application

Q. Does Precision Agricultural Solutions offer automatic section control?
A. Yes. With System 110,150, or 350, simply add the ASC-10 ECU or in order to perform 10 section control. X20 does 30 section control with the 30S ECU. With a System 350 (X30), direct control is also available via the ISO virtual terminal interface for compatible controllers such as Dickey-john. In addition, the ASC-10 provides liquid rate control. Precision Agricultural Solutions offers kits for connecting to a variety of controllers and sprayers. A generic harness is also available. Please contact your dealer with questions about how to do auto section control.

Q. I want the ability to avoid double application of product to areas that have already been covered?
A. Using coverage maps, Precision Agricultural Solutions’ systems have the ability to automatically turn off sections when they pass over areas already applied. This results in a great saving to the farmer.

Q. Can you do variable rate control?
A. Yes, With System 110 or System 150 and the ASC-10, you can perform liquid variable rate control for 2 products using imported variable rate application maps (.shp file format). An as-applied map is saved during application.
Using System 350, variable rate control can be performed with either the ASC-10 or via ISO integration.  Contact PAS or Richard if you have any questions about adding variable rate control.

Q. Can I apply product at different rates in my field to match requirements?
A . Yes, based on prescription maps as layers, Precision Agricultural Solutions VRC provides the ability to apply at different rates and control up to 8 different products at once.

Q. Do Precision Agricultural Solutions’ systems let you perform in-field mapping?
A. Both System 150 and System 350 have the ability to collect and save field boundaries with specific jobs. With System 350, you can log coverage and add flag points (with custom naming and Icons) as part of a job (such as  trees or a gate location) to the map. Coverage maps and as-applied maps can be saved and can be exported as *.shp files or as pdf reports.

Q: What type of mapping will the X30 perform?
A: The X30 generates coverage and as-applied maps that can be exported as shape files, which are compatible with most mapping software suites. The X30 system can also create convenient job reports in pdf format that can be exported for your records without the need for “back office” software.

Q: Can the X30 console flag points in a field?
A: Yes the X30 has the ability to flag points in a field. In addition to preset options such as rocks, danger, weeds, etc., flags can be completely customized by the user with names, colors and icons. Flag points are stored in the field database and recalled each time you return to that field.

Q: Do Precision Agricultural Solutions’ systems support GLONAAS?  Is there an unlock fee?
A: Yes the AGI-3 receiver for System 150 and System 350 supports GLONAAS and there is NO unlock fee!

Q: Are self-propelled windrowers supported by Precision Agricultural Solutions’ systems?
A: Yes both System 150 and System 350 with AES-25 electronic steering system are supported with kits for many makes and models of windrowers. Growers typically see windrower performance increased dramatically with improved efficiency, less overlap, less driver fatigue, and longer hours cutting hay in critical times.
